About ‘Parkhaven & Schiehaven’ by Michael van der Burg

The Parkhaven is a pre-war harbour between the Lloyd Quarter and the Park in Rotterdam. The Parkhaven was dug between 1890 and 1893 and constructed for the transhipment of general cargo. On the west side of the Parkhaven, from 1908 to 1970, the stevedoring company Wm.H. Müller & Co's Stuwadoors Mij. N.V. was located. General cargo transhipment also took place on the east side of the Parkhaven. The northwest side of the Parkhaven has been home to the River Police since 1911. The patrol vessels have their berth here. In 1933, the function of the Parkhaven changed. With the completion of the Park Locks, the Parkhaven became a connecting route between the Nieuwe Maas and the Delfshavense Schie. General cargo handling on the east side of the harbour disappeared and in 1960 the Euromast was built here as part of the Floriade. For years, the training ship Jan Backx and the Seven Seas, which was in use as a lodging ship, were moored here. Today, a floating Chinese restaurant is located here. The Müller pier on the west side of the Parkhaven was used as an event site for many years. Today, the Müller Pier is home to the Lloydkwartier residential development.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
