Since moving to Bremen, I had always wanted to capture a photo of the Schlachte promenade with the towers of the old town in the background during a colorful sunrise. Ideally, I was hoping for a perfect reflection in the Weser River, which meant no boat traffic and hardly any wind. After around 10 to 15 failed attempts — each requiring an early wake-up and a trip into the city center — one cold winter morning, I finally got lucky: everything aligned. It was so cold that the water had started to freeze and if you look closely, you'll notice faint streaks in the river caused by drifting pieces of ice. To capture the full view of the Schlachte, I used panoramic photography, which resulted in a ultra-high-resolution image, perfect for very large prints.
