Clouds drifting in over the palm village of Petten on the North Holland North Sea coast create a threatening sky during sunset. On the beach, a jellyfish lies waiting for the water to rise far enough up the beach to be taken into the North Sea.
Petten's Palendorp is a work of art and monument on the beach, and also in the sea at high tide. This beautiful work of art consists of a 160 poles ranging from six to 12 metres in length. The poles are in the shape of ten houses and a church. It is a reminder of old Petten, which was inundated by the sea long ago.
