The photo was taken on one of the Derawan Islands. These tropical islands are located in the Celebes Sea east of Kalimantan province. It is about a 45-minute motorboat ride to and from the Derawan Islands. Kalimantan belongs to Indonesia and is the Indonesian part of the island of Borneo. The other part of Borneo belongs to Malaysia and to the small independent state of Brunei.
