I wanted to take this photo series for a long time, sunrise in Domburg overlooking the Manteling. As a native of Domburg, I don't come to 't village' very often anymore. Too busy, too restless, too much. A morning walk during sunrise is something else. Only one other Domburger I came across. I could quietly do my thing.
It turned out to be a long morning walk. In this image, you can see the dune path that leads you to Domburg. The village where I grew up. On the left, the Manteling, a unique nature reserve that I knew every single spot of as a child. To the right is the beach, where the same applies. The tip of Domburg's church tower, 't Haventje and of course the Watertoren, a monument. Formerly a water tower with holes in it, the Germans did that, now a flat.
Further along, you can see a bit of the Bathing Pavilion. Years ago restored to 'former glory' restored to its former glory. Behind it, you can see another white building. Carmen Sylva, talk about old glory!
Beyond Domburg, you walk across the dunes to Westkapelle, but that is for you to discover for yourself....
Whereas the sky here is pastel-coloured, with a flake of cloud here and there, later it became mostly bright blue. It was a beautiful morning.
