An osprey family has built a large nest on the beach in Cape Le Grand National Park (Western Australia). When we were in the park, the eggs had already hatched and the 3 young were so big that they probably wouldn't stay in the nest for very long.
Nevertheless, they were still well fed by mom or dad during sunrise. 1 of the parents stayed on the nest, while the other flew away every time to get new food. In this photo the caught fish is brought to those left behind.
The parents' hunter then flew away again, while the partner tore the fish to pieces and (after having eaten something) started feeding pieces to the young.
