Slowly, autumn has made its appearance. The days shrink, the light softens, and the stillness of the land breathes a new season.
The purple heather has faded, the grass between them glowing golden in the late remnant of sunlight.
Everything around you whispers that summer is over, that nature is settling down to rest - a deep breath for winter. On the moors, the mist swirls back up early, like a veil over the landscape.
In this photo, I wanted to capture that feeling - that quiet tipping point between summer and autumn.
However, I replaced the tight grey-white sky with a previously captured sky, which better suits the gentle mood of this moment.
Most of my nature pictures I shot in the immediate vicinity of Ede.
