About the artwork

In the African savannah, where the sun is low on the horizon and the earth glows warmly, this meerkat stands guard. Meerkats are part of a close-knit family, a colony that lives together and protects each other.

Meerkats are social animals that live in groups of sometimes as many as 30 individuals. Within such a group, everyone has a task: some look after the young, others dig new tunnels, and a chosen few - like this one - keep watch. They scan the surroundings for predators such as eagles, jackals or snakes.

By standing upright and using their keen eyes and ears, they can quickly detect danger. As soon as something is suspicious, they let out a warning cry, after which the rest of the group hides in their underground passageways at lightning speed.

But not everything is excitement and alertness. When it is safe, the young play around the burrows, group members groom each other's fur, and warm themselves together in the morning sun. Meerkats show how important cooperation and caring for each other are in wildlife.

As the sun slowly sinks, they remain on guard, a small but crucial part of a bigger picture - a family that can only survive together. ??

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
