A very early morning in 's-Hertogenbosch. From the river Dommel we are looking at an old house. This was built in 1929 to serve as a pumping station, a device to bring water from a lower to a higher level. Such a pumping station was urgently needed in the early twentieth century to prevent flooding of the inner city. The building is accessible by means of the small hand ferry "De Moerasdraak" (the Swamp Dragon), which also provides access to the nature reserve "Het Bossche Broek".
I used a slower shutter speed to take this picture, which caused the clouds to spread out nicely and the water to become wrinkle-free.
