Photographing this old kitchen in an abandoned and dilapidated house was very special. The house has been empty for more than 10 years, but everything is still there in the kitchen. The two gas cookers, the pans, the cupboard with the crockery and some pots of food are ready to be used. The people who lived here once moved out of the house and left everything there. The dilapidated kitchen is now a kind of time capsule, where you can imagine how people used to live, cook and eat. Abandoned buildings like this are the real gems for a photographer, the atmosphere is very palpable and special, to make one very quiet. In this photo of the kitchen, I tried to capture the atmosphere, the atmosphere of the past and bygone days. I think I succeeded... This photo looks great in almost any interior, from modern to classic, and from industrial to design.
