Nuremberg is the largest city in Franconia and the second largest in the state of Bavaria. The cityscape is characterised by medieval architecture such as the fortress walls and towers of the old town. However, Nuremberg is best known for its Imperial Castle and the medieval Old Town. In addition to the many other sights, such as the Beautiful Fountain, the important churches (Frauenkirche on the main market square, Sebalduskirche or the Gothic St. Lawrence Church) and the historic rocky passages deep beneath the city, Nuremberg also has a diverse museum landscape (Neues Museum, Albrecht Dürer Haus, Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Toy Museum and many more).
For this photo, I was once again out and about in the late evening. After dark, I was able to capture this beautiful motif of the illuminated Old Town. I chose a long exposure for this shot. Another advantage of the late hour was, of course, that the many tourists who visit Nuremberg's old town during the day were no longer out and about.
