* Rought Beauty *
166 seconds in the surf in front of Henningsvaer on the Lofoten in Norway.
Luckily no breaker came so high that it could reach my camera, but it felt like a very very long 3 minutes that I stood there.
Almost a little dreamy it looks now the incredibly rough landscape there, and exactly therefore I like this variant of all my pictures made there best.
It has somehow charm the area there, and almost something enchanted, but you do not get this there often properly when you stand there between the rough cliffs.
You're too busy trying not to slip on the slippery rocks, dodging the crashing waves, taking care of your gear, and braving the icy wind.
Even if a long time exposure can't show the water as it was the pictorial impression on the spot, it's just this soft representation of the water which reminds me best of this place. Probably that is why my memories of such places where I could take my most beautiful pictures are always much more than just the memory of the sound of the shutter release during the shooting.
