Northern light, polar light or aurora borealis is a rare phenomenom as far south as The Netherlands, but a severe geomagnetic storm occured after energy from a solar wind reached the space environment surrounding Earth. The aurora shows tones of green and purple with a few clouds floating over the levee of the river Vecht between the town of Dalfsen and the city of Zwolle in Overijssel.
