In the winter months, the Lofoten Islands in Norway become one of the best stages for one of nature's most spectacular phenomena – the aurora borealis, also known as the Northern Lights. This dance of lights, ever changing, casts an otherworldly glow over the rugged, frost-encrusted wilderness of Lofoten. The illumination brings the landscapes to life, the silhouettes of the mountains more dramatic, the white snow sparkling as though dusted with stardust, the icy fjords like sheets of crystal under the mystical light.
