It's low tide, there is a storm blowing outside the pier heads so the fishermen can't fish so they are either at home or doing repairs to their gear. Forever repairs!
To my eye there is something rather special about harbours particularly harbours that are full of working boats. Small boats and big men that go out in all weathers to catch us the finest nutritious foods, both fish and shellfish.
However there is a danger that modern laws and politics might just stop this age-old tradition from continuing around our coasts.
This would kill communities, decimate families and destroy the livelihoods of many folk. We must resist and desist.
