The majestic building that housed the Nikeio School in Nymfaio, is a very important attraction. Both historically, architecturally, and as the home of the well-known environmental organization "Arcturus". The Nikeios School was built in 1928 with a donation from the great benefactor tobacconist from the Nymphaeum, Ioannis Zan Nikou (1876-1931). Until recently, the prevailing view was that the architectural design was made by Swedes, since Nikos lived there. Recent research, however, has shown that it was designed by the famous Greek architect Georgios Pantzaris (1901-1971), who designed dozens of faculties throughout the country. The Nikeios School housed schools until 1980, when it was abandoned. Restoration efforts began after 1986, and "Arcturus" and its headquarters were founded and operated here in 1993. Today, you can watch in the building an excellent tour by the volunteers of the organization, about the work and history of "Arcturus" , adorned with very interesting and explanatory video projections, full and instructive experience, for young and old.
