About ‘Nijmegen by night #5’ by Lex Schulte

Nijmegen by night. The skyline of Nijmegen with the railway bridge and the entrance to the Waalhaven. Because the sun has just set and the sky is not quite dark yet, there is a nice balance between the sky and the outside lights. The lights are reflected in the still water of the Waalhaven. The Waalhaven, also known as Nieuwe Haven, is a harbour in the Dutch city of Nijmegen. The port is located on the river Waal, just past the Nieuwe Hezelpoort and right next to the Railway Bridge. The port was built in 1852 and 1853 as a replacement for the Old Port, which was located near the middle of the current Waalkade, and was an industrial port. The harbour had this function until the mid 1990s. Since then it has been a refuge and berth for commercial shipping. There are also a few houseboats. In the 1930s, the port was extended westward as part of the work supply scheme. In this same period the name was changed from Nieuwe Haven to Waalhaven.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
