Nieuwegracht in Utrecht between Paulusbrug and Pausdambrug.
As the name suggests, the Nieuwegracht is newer than the Oudegracht. The canal was built between 1390 and 1393 together with the Kromme Nieuwegracht, the Drift and the Plompetorengracht by a little built-up area within the city walls, probably to improve the drainage of the area in preparation for the construction of the buildings.
