About ‘Neatly lined up’ by Anne Ponsen

These flies were neatly lined up on a reed stem. The background is green like the stem. The green is water but because of the large distance to that water it can no longer be recognized as such.
The stem divides the image diagonally, into two triangles, and runs from corner to corner. The flies are looking down, as it were.
