About ‘Neat and tidy’ by Margot van den Berg

We moor our boat at a jetty on an island in Turkey. Next to us is also a sailboat. The owners have their sheets rolled up in perfect circles. Exactly as some sailing booklets dictate.

They are circles that grow from small to larger, a connecting series of loops neatly draped on the jetty. You can see the little scuffs created by while sailing. A thread that has come loose from the line, a small discolouration.

A perfect line unbroken by knots or twists lies on the jetty. Nothing stands in the way of a quick departure of the boat. The sheet will come off without a hitch when the boat leaves. But for now, she lies there. Almost perfect in all her simplicity.

That near perfection is enhanced by the removal of colour and the abstract cropping. The dark spots in the line are actually bright blue. At least as beautiful as this black-and-white rendering but with a different effect. In this picture, the lack of colour emphasises the lines and simplifies the image.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
