This authentic fishing village under the smoke of Amsterdam is well known to many people. It is called Durgerdam. I myself had never been there until this moment. On this day in May 2022, the weather was changeable and the weather app indicated that towards sunset the sun would emerge very briefly. With cloud cover, this can produce beautiful colours. So I went with a few more photographers to this idyllic town where there are also many jetties. Always nice to capture. Although it turned out later that this was not practical because we were all photographing on the scaffolding, so no serene scaffolding picture could be made. But that was not to spoil the fun. The sun did come through and brought some colour to the sky. Since there was wind, the clouds could be nicely smeared with long shutter speeds. How beautiful simplicity can be. Just a little church, a few houses and water, in short, very Dutch.
