This photo of the Veil Nebula in constellation Swan is beautiful because of its blue and pinkish red hues. It is the remnant of a nova, 5000 to 8000 years ago. This is one part of the veil nebula, the other half can also be found this gallery. To show this photo in all its splendor, it was exposed for fifteen hours over several nights.
