The day after a huge storm had hit the mountains in the east of France we went up the mountain to see what damage it caused in the forests. We had to stop several times, because trees were blocking the road and we decided to only inspect the forests that were on the other side of the mountain, which had apparently not been affected as much. When we arrived the sun was out and even though this is a enchanting part of the forest, it is very hard to make a good image in these woodlands without a bit of mist to hide some of the chaos. Fog drifted in and out of the forest. I set up the camera, I wanted to press the shutter and the mist had disappeared again before I could make an image. This went on for a few hours until I was able to photograph a few scenes. The stillness in this woodland was emphasized by the fog, but it is always there. We have never encountered anyone in this place, it is calm and peaceful and apart from a few chamois, we were all alone
