Once a year, the annual Illumination week takes place at the world-famous UNESCO world heritage site Kinderdijk.
A well-known spot for most Dutch people to get a good breath of fresh air and enjoy this ancient Dutch sight.
But during this special week, something special is happening. All the windmills will be temporarily illuminated in the evening, making Kinderdijk even more three-dimensional.
The beacons of light shining on the outside of the mills can be seen in the far distance and provide a wonderful opportunity to see the mills in a different light.
The cloud cover here gave the light pollution ample opportunity to show how much light comes from the towns surrounding Kinderdijk and the water the perfect opportunity to give the mill extra attention through its reflection.
A few stars are still in the sky to add sparkle to this dreamscape.
