The faint mist on an early August morning proved to offer the perfect conditions for this pocket of woodland on the moors of the Veluwe. The combination of mist and light produced an almost silvery, metallic shine to this photograph and it was one of those magical moments that you know you have made a photograph that is very "you". This is why this is undoubtedly one of my very favourite images and one that fills me with joy every time I look at it. These silver birches who almost glimmer against the matte backdrop with grass and oak trees is one I enjoy tremendously. The little tuft of orange oak leaves in the background ties this image together.
