I took this picture of a cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) during a photo safari in Masai Mara National Park, Kenya.
During a morning drive, we saw this beautiful, but quite young and inexperienced, Cheetah following an impala in the dry grass. A few times that morning he tried to catch an impala, but unfortunately for the Cheetah always without success. No doubt the impala's feelings were different!
Cheetah's are the fastest (predatory) animals on land (up to almost 100 km/hour) and can often overtake their prey due to their speed. However, they have limited stamina at that high speed. In addition, they hunt during the day and thus have to catch their prey by surprise.
I have converted this photo to monochrome because I think it suits it very well. In my opinion, it gives something extra's to the photo.
This monochrome wildlife photo was taken with a Nikon D850 and Nikkor 500 F4 lens which gives a special background (DOF). This beautiful photo will be an eye-catcher on any wall/wall.
Of course, this photo is also available in colour!
