Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.

About ‘Molen De Ster in de winternacht’ by Jan van der Knaap

Houtzaagmolen De Ster in het Utrechtse Lombok tijdens een winternacht in januari 2013. Er was veel sneeuw gevallen en in het holst van de nacht trok ik er op uit om stadsgezichten te fotograferen.

Houtzaagmolen de Ster is het enige compleet bewaard gebleven houtzaagmolenerf van Nederland. De top van de molen reikt tot 20 meter in de lucht. De wieken staan daar nog eens 9 meter boven. Molen De Ster is van ver in de omtrek goed te zien.

De Ster stamt oorspronkelijk uit 1739. Van de oorspronkelijke molen was sinds 1911 alleen de zagerij nog over. De molen is tussen 1996 en 1998 herbouwd. De Ster staat aan de Leidsche Rijn in de Utrechtse buurt Lombok en heeft een terrasje aan het water. Deze foto is in de winter van 2013 gemaakt, behoort tot de serie Moderne Geschiedenis en is daarom uit historische gronden in zwartwit uitgevoerd.
