Modern Japanese art: Koi carp with lotus flowers

by Egon Zitter

This stunning digital artwork depicts a majestic goldfish (inspired by the traditional Japanese koi) swimming gracefully through a crystal-clear pond. The fish is surrounded by perfectly symmetrical, radiant white lotus flowers and lush foliage. A distinctive feature of this artwork is the metallic gold accents on the leaves, which glow beautifully in the subtle rays of light breaking through the water’s surface. In Asian art and Feng Shui, the goldfish and the lotus symbolise good fortune, abundance, transformation and pure tranquillity. The contrast between the deep teal-blue water, the warm orange of the fish and the shimmering gold elements gives the piece a highly exclusive and soothing appearance. This modern, AI-assisted artwork combines traditional Eastern symbolism with a contemporary, sleek finish. It is the ultimate statement piece for spaces where relaxation takes centre stage, such as the bedroom, the living room or a minimalist bathroom, and fits seamlessly with the popular Japandi and hotel-chic interior design trends.
