In the early 19th century, provincial coins were replaced by national coins. This meant there had to be a new building for coin production. Eventually it became this building, on the corner of Leidseweg and the (later) Muntkade. The famous Mint building on the Merwedekanaal canal is currently being redeveloped. This photo was taken just before the renovation started.
