This is windmill De Adriaan, located on the Spaarne in Haarlem. The Adriaan is an octagonal scaffolding mill dating from 1779, originally intended for grinding tuff, shells and oak bark. After that, tobacco was produced, and later grain was ground. In 1930, after a heavy storm, the mill fell into disrepair and even burned down completely in 1932. It was not until 1999 that the land was rebuilt. The mill now serves as a mill museum, and since 2004 it has been an official wedding location for the municipality of Haarlem.
