WORK:
In the state of Chiapas in southeastern Mexico, you will find countless colourful markets where Indians from different tribes come together to offer their wares. Children often walk around with homemade Worry Dolls ( 'Worry Dolls' ). These are said to take away your worries and bring you good luck. I have drawn such a cute little girl with her little brother on her back.
MATERIALS USED:
Watercolour paint, watercolour pencils and coloured pencils.
INSPIRATION:
Years ago, I backpacked through Mexico.
Especially in the interior, I was forever captivated by the beautiful and colourful culture of the indigenous peoples living there. I have forever locked these impressions in my mind and heart. Since then, I have created several works focusing on Mexican culture and the indigenous tribes.
