This work of art depicts an impressive angling fish, constructed from countless rusty bolts, nuts, washers and metal plates. The most striking detail, of course, is the light bulb that protrudes above its head and appears to actually glow. A playful reference to how the angelfish in the deep sea lures its prey. On closer inspection, you discover how ingeniously each part has been used: the teeth are made up of sharp metal points, the fins of hinges and plates, and the eye almost looks like a real gear.
The colours combine deep rust tones with a weathered turquoise background, giving the work an industrial and rugged look. The atmosphere is tough, mysterious and a touch menacing, but at the same time creative and surprising. It is as if someone went past the junkyard to collect as many parts as possible and puzzled just until this particular fish came to life. Not everything had to be perfectly realistic. It is precisely the artistic freedom that gives this work its power.
This work of art is ideally suited for a mancave, an industrial loft, the office of a creative person or for someone who is attracted to the sea, nature or special design objects. It is a real eye-catcher that provokes conversations.
The work is part of a series of six artworks in the same style: a racing bike, a rod fish with lamp, a dragon, a fisherman, a lion and a whale.
My passion for working with materials and recycling stuff inspired me to create this series using AI. Here, old metal gets a new purpose and a second life in art.
