Starting at €335,240 (as of July 2020), the starting price is now up to €800,000 depending on the equipment (as of April 2022). The V8 engine delivers a whopping 730 hp with 800 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful AMG V8 production engine built to date. The Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series (2020) also set a new Nürburgring Nordschleife record for road-legal sports cars, clocking 6:43.616 minutes for the 20.832-kilometre circuit.
The first Mercedes-AMG was presented at AMG in Affalterbach on 9 September 2014 and the AMG GT Coupé Black Series was only built for one year from 2020-2021. The Black Series was not limited in terms of numbers, but around 1700 units were produced or sold.
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT3 and AMG GT-4 racing cars have been known on various racetracks around the world since 2017. For example in 2016 with 1st to 4th place in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring, but these are again over 300 kg lighter than the normal Mercedes-AMG. However, all AMG GT models are fast, over 300 km/h, the AMG GT Black Series even only 3.2 s from 0-100 km/h.
