About ‘Melkwegbrug in Purmerend’ by Jan van der Knaap

De Melkwegbrug is een eyecatcher waar je wel even aan moet wennen. De brug ligt over ligt over het Noord Hollandsch Kanaal en verbindt het oude stadscentrum van Purmerend met de nieuwe wijk Weidevenne. De brug is 12 meter hoog en is voorzien van een steile trap. Om de brug heen slingert echter een loop- en fietspad voor rijwielen en degenen die niet willen of kunnen traplopen. Die route is omgeven door duidelijke verlichting. Je moet er even aan wennen, maar uiteindelijk vond ik de brug wel mooi. De Melkwegbrug ligt in het verlengde van de Melkweg in Weidevenne en is opgeleverd in 2012.
