The Tuinbladsnijder (Megachile centuncularis) is one of the most common bees in the Netherlands. It has been found in all provinces. It nestles in all kinds of cavities: from trees, walls and hollow stems to nest blocks, but also in the soil. The Tuinbladsnijder not only covers its nest with normal pieces of leaves (of rose or Virginia creeper), but also with the colored petals.
