The Maserati MC12 is a super sports car made by the Italian sports car manufacturer Maserati. The car was built on the basis of the Ferrari Enzo which was manufactured by sister company Ferrari. The car was developed to qualify for the FIA GT championship, in which Maserati wanted to make a comeback with the MC12. According to official FIA rules, a participating car must be based on a street-legal car of which at least 25 units have been produced. Maserati produced 50 cars in total.
