About ‘Mandela’ by Jan Talmon

This image was created by copying the original several times in Photoshop, rotating each image, and then merging them together. The original photo consists of the bare branches of a tree. By playing with the blending modes, this image was created, The blue is the original colour of the sky, and as you move from the outside in, the photo's overlap more and more, resulting in colours different from those in the original photo. I was struck by the resemblance of the centre of this photo to a mandala.

I chose not only to use the centre as the final result, but also to include the branches extending outwards in the image.

I’ve been seriously involved in photography for about 10 years now. I don’t have a specific theme. I’m a member of the F8 Photography Group in Roerdalen. For the past three years, I’ve been studying to become a professional photographer in Belgium. In 2025, I completed a mentorship in documentary photography, for which I produced a series of photographs on the theme of ‘Connection in public spaces’. What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
