Albania is a country that is not much visited by tourists. Yet it has some beautiful places within its borders. The most visited part of Albania are the Albanian Alps in the north, on the border with Montenegro. However, if you drive further south, towards the border with Greece, you will come across another beautiful mountain range, the Mali i Dhëmbelit. The river Vjosë meanders beautifully through the mountains here, which reach heights of up to 2000 meters. The best place to visit this area is the town of Permet, with more than 10,000 inhabitants. From here you can make beautiful day trips into the area. With some searching on the internet you will find some hiking trails but if you take the SH75 to the Greek border you will also pass many beautiful viewpoints.
