Malaysian Westland WG-13 Super Lynx Mk. 100.
Registration: M501-1.
The Westland Lynx is a helicopter designed by British manufacturer Westland in collaboration with French company Aérospatiale.
The Lynx was built at the Westland factory in Yeovil, England. The first helicopter made its first flight in early 1971. The helicopter was originally intended for civil and maritime use, but military interest in developing an Army and Navy Lynx soon emerged. The first military version was put into service in 1977.
The Royal Malaysian Navy still has four of the originally acquired six Lynx helicopters in service in 2025. The country is diligently searching for a replacement.
