About ‘Maine Coons, Volendam-style.’ by Robert Jan Smit

On Volendam’s historic quayside, where the scent of the water and the rich history of the Zuiderzee can still be felt, two imposing Maine Coons pose in traditional Volendam costume. The elegant female cat proudly wears the distinctive lace bonnet and colourful dress, whilst the stately male cat is dressed in the classic dark costume that has been inextricably linked with Volendam for generations. Their calm demeanour and confident gaze give the impression that they have belonged here all their lives.
