This monotype or monoprint is made with a gelliplate and acrylic paint. A unique handmade and one-off piece, only 1 print can be made of your design. The graphic printing technique and the paper used create all kinds of textures and effects. This makes it interesting to look at. Here, many layers have been printed on top of each other, with homemade stencils and sewing thread in between. As a result, there seems to be a certain depth to the work. Each layer leaves a different part of the paper unprinted and ultimately gives an unpredictable result by creating residual shapes. In this work, you can see a pair of dark blue hands, with threads, symbols and texts in the background. It reminds me of an alchemist's attempt to create order out of chaos and thus literally or figuratively find gold. Connecting, untangling, seeking coherence, it's all in there. Even the magic stars are flying around.
