historic medieval Magdalenenkapelle from the 13th century on the banks of the Elbe River in the old town of Magdeburg, which was heavily destroyed during World War II. The Magdalen Chapel is one of the few preserved church buildings that survived the time and did not fall victim to the ideas of urban planners of the former GDR and simply disappeared to make way for more modern houses.
