The 25 Fontes Falls are a group of waterfalls coming down vertically, filling a small natural pool. The water from the waterfall is then fed into an artificial water channel called a "levada", which was built to divert water from the mountains to areas of agriculture. To reach the waterfalls the levada can be followed through a forest of bay trees, that are typical for Madeira.
