Thanks to macro photography we can take a closer look at this leaf. All veins are clearly visible down to the smallest detail. Each compartment is full of chloroplasts. The leaf captures sunlight and carbon dioxide (CO2) and converts these into sugars and oxygen. The sugars become nutrition for the tree which is then transported through the veins. The oxygen returns to our atmosphere.
1 tree absorbs about 25 kg of CO2 per year and can help cool down our earth. But not every tree is the same. For example, coniferous trees might actually exacerbate the greenhouse effect. Especially old forests, old wood and old leaves hold CO2 very well.
Trees remain very impressive factories of nature.
With this beautiful macro print with green leaves and veins, you can enjoy our special trees every season.
