Zwolle as you rarely see it: from above, in peace and precision. This aerial view shows the Maagjesbolwerk, a striking triangular building complex on the canal, right in the historical heart of the city. In the centre of the building, a round glass dome - the atrium - shines like a kind of modern city sun. Around it, the straight lines of the building run at a tight angle, like a geometric puzzle between water, brick and greenery.

Along the canal, boats are quietly moored. The trees cast soft shadows on the quay, and in the distance you can see the city unfolding like a patchwork of old roofs and new developments. This photo was taken during the blue hour - a brief moment between day and night when colours become extra soft and layered, and when artificial light begins to subtly blend with the last of the daylight. The atmosphere is calm, almost meditative.
