The C-160 Transall is a military transport aircraft produced by a French-German consortium from 1967 to 1981. It was delivered to the German, French, Turkish and South African air forces, among others.
Transall is a German abbreviation of the Transporter Allianz production consortium, which consisted of the companies MBB, Aerospatiale and VFW-Fokker.
In 2021, the German air force retired the C-160 from service. The Transall was replaced in the Luftwaffe by the Airbus A400M Atlas.
