New York City, the city that never sleeps. Ever since I first came here in 1998, this city continues to fascinate me. From 2015 this has only become more so, as that is when my photography passion was born. Since then, my camera and the necessary lenses and tripod are always in my travel bag, so too this time. For my work, I was allowed to go to New York and had selected a number of locations to photograph in advance, including this spot in Jersey City.
With the Hudson River in the foreground and the Lower Manhattan skyline in the background, this could not go wrong. Arriving at my location on time, it was not long to find the right spot. After setting up and adjusting my camera, the wait for the right light could begin.
For this shot, I also used a so-called grey filter, so I could start longer shutter speeds a bit earlier. Meanwhile, the blue hour had started and the lights of the immense skyscrapers came on. Sitting comfortably on a bench with the remote control in my hand, it was great enjoying the view.
After several shots, I was done here and could return to my hotel.
As always, I edit all the shots I take during my travels from behind my desk at home. This is because there I have access to a powerful PC with the necessary photo editing programs to make the shots suitable for your wall.
