The lories (Loriinae) are small, brightly colored parrots, a subfamily of the family "true" parrots. They are also thought of as a family or tribus. Loris are found in Australia and Oceania. Loris have a specialized tongue, that is, there is a brush-like tip at the end of the tongue that they use to get nectar and soft fruit. There are 5,000 known plant species where the lories can lick up the nectar and pollen. Other common features are the pointed tail and wings. With these they can fly well and are very maneuverable.
