About ‘Looking at Heemskerk’ by Mr White Takes Pictures
Just off the coast of Heemskerk is an old shipwreck. You can see it clearly in this photo. This object in the North Sea is a nice place for Cormorants to rest. Here I used a slower shutter speed, making the waves look a bit abstract. The whole thing looks a bit like a painting. It was captured on a grey autumn day in October.

I am Martijn Wit and I like to photograph nature in my neighbourhood, but I also love to capture the city and the night. I love the play of light in combination with the vintage lenses I use. I like doing macro and close-up photography, so I often lie on my stomach among the bushes. My focus is often on the tranquillity that, if you look closely, can be found everywhere. So also in the busy city. Have fun in my shop and if you have any questions, please contact me.
