The "Longneck" people, often called the Karen or Kayan tribe, are an ethnic group originally from Myanmar (Burma) but also found in northern Thailand. They are famous for the tradition of wearing neck rings (neck rings), a practice in which women wear copper rings around their necks from an early age to elongate them. This tradition is seen as a form of beauty, and the neck rings are added more and more as the girls get older.
Longneck people usually live in villages in Thailand, where they often work as farmers or weavers. Some of these villages have become tourist attractions, where visitors can observe the culture and traditions. However, this is a controversial issue, as critics question whether such tourism practices are ethical.
